More than thirty thousand people attended the South Australian Caravan and Camping Lifestyle Show in Adelaide this year.
RDAWEP, with the support of our Local Government partners, facilitated a stand at this year’s event.
“Caravan and camping is one of the fastest growing markets in Australia and it’s important that we are talking with the consumers, raising awareness about the region, and understanding what visitor’s expectations are whilst on holiday in our region” said Mr Brad Riddle, Tourism and Economic Development Manager, RDAWEP.
RDAWEP has identified the caravan and camping market as a key priority for the region and is ensuring that we not only promote the Eyre Peninsula as a quality caravan and camping destination but are also planning for the future of this market and ensuring that we have the management systems in place to accommodate growth.
Tourism Research Australia predicts that caravan and camping will be the main growth in accommodation between now and 2020. The total number of nights spent in caravan and camping accommodation will increase from 31 million to 45 million by 2020.
