Regional Development Australia Eyre Peninsula, in partnership with the Local Buying Foundation, Whyalla Business and Tourism and the City of Whyalla is offering a FREE Town Ambassador Program to showcase the benefits of living and working in Whyalla.

Whyalla is undergoing an exciting transition. With major projects underway (and planned) and a growing tourism industry, businesses have a unique opportunity to maximise the economic benefits of this growth by ensuring excellent visitor experiences and community engagement.

The Whyalla Business Town Ambassador Program, delivered by TAFE SA aims to upskill 40 local people in customer facing roles, ensuring Whyalla is well represented and welcoming to visitors. The program includes two key components:

One-Day Training – Gain customer service expertise and local insights to confidently engage with visitors.

One-Day Regional Immersion – Experience Whyalla firsthand with a guided tour of local businesses and attractions, featuring guest speakers from business, local government, and tourism sectors.

We’re looking for business owners, managers, employees, and volunteers who interact with visitors—whether you run a café, work in a service station, manage a hotel, or serve customers in a retail store.

Don’t miss this opportunity, there are limited spaces available, SIGN UP for one of the program dates below.

📅 Program 1: 5th & 6th March 2025
📅 Program 2: 2nd & 3rd April 2025
