Regional Development Australia Eyre Peninsula (RDAEP) is delivering the Small Business Fundamentals Program across the region from funding received by the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science, via the Office for Small and Family Business.

The program will support small and family businesses, and social enterprises to increase their skills, capability and capacity and is one of 20 initiatives in South Australia’s Small Business Strategy, launched recently by Premier Malinauskas.

RDAEP are seeking specialist providers to deliver a series of workshops, one-on-one mentoring, and training sessions to provide businesses with access to support across the below key areas:

Workforce management: Education and advice around hiring and retaining skilled employees, managing employee performance, training, maintaining a positive work environment and workforce housing/accommodation.

Financial challenges: Helping businesses understand cash flow management, securing funding or loans, profitability, managing expenses or benchmarking.

Competition: Working through the challenges of competitors, market share, pricing, differentiation, and staying ahead in a competitive landscape.

Regulatory and legal compliance: Helping businesses to navigate and adhere to various regulations, licenses, permits, and legal requirements specific to their industry.

Technology and innovation: Supporting businesses through technological advancements, adopting new technologies, and staying innovative.

Customer acquisition and retention: Strategies to help businesses attract new customers, retain existing ones, and providing excellent customer service.

Operational efficiency: Assistance streamlining processes, optimizing productivity, and managing resources effectively to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Market strategies: Helping businesses with their online presence, reflecting on their marketing strategy and how they are using social media to take advantage of a wider range of tools and information to better target their potential consumers and reach them more effectively.

Business planning: Assist and prepare owners to work through strategic/transition/succession planning, continuity, and leadership.

Risk management: Identifying and mitigating risks, such as cybersecurity threats, economic fluctuations, natural disasters, supply chain disruptions, legal and contract, and safety.

Personal Challenges: Helping business owners challenge their own mindsets, personal limitations, goal setting, work/life balance.
