The Hon Kristy McBain MP, Federal Minister for Regional Development, Local Government and Territories travelled to South Australia to meet with Regional Development Australia Chairs and CEOs.

RDAEP Chair Bryan Trigg and CEO Ryan Viney travelled to Adelaide on Monday 30 January to discuss with Minister McBain the opportunities and challenges facing communities across the Eyre Peninsula.

Discussions included the development of new and emerging industries such as renewable energy, mining, tourism, space and hydrogen.  Bryan and Ryan also outlined the challenges associated with workforce attraction and retention including housing, General Practitioner requirements, aged and child care, education and training, and water security.

They also discussed RDSA cross-regional projects including the Regional Workforce program, Regional Leadership Development program, housing projects, circular economy opportunities and the Drought Resilience program.
