The Book Bazaar Charity Bookshop has a new computer and printer after the Eyre Peninsula Community Foundation received a grant from Port Lincoln Bendigo Community Bank. This has enabled the Book Bazaar volunteers to search for information on books quicker and safer, as well as print more easily than the previous very aged donated computer and printer.

The Eyre Peninsula Community Foundation was very pleased to have the opportunity to make this important digital-age improvement with sales and book enquiries currently at record highs.

Volunteers are being trained to ensure everyone is comfortable with the new computer and printer system. The Book Bazaar accepts donations of books, in good clean condition, DVDs, CDs, LPs, games and puzzles for resale. Local Eyre Peninsula published authors’ books are also for sale at the Book Bazaar. Profits are shared with the Eyre Peninsula Community Foundation and the Home Hospice Fund.

Chair Peter Knife said “We appreciate the support provided by the Bendigo Community Bank. This grant will make a genuine difference in increasing book sales that will in turn support the Foundation and Eyre Peninsula Home Hospice Service.”

The Eyre Peninsula Community Foundation carefully manages a growing base of donated funds and works with philanthropic and other partners to ensure the best possible value and impact from each of its community projects, regional student advancement and home hospice services on Eyre Peninsula. The Foundation is supported by the invaluable work of the Book Bazaar volunteers and committed administrative staff.
