The Minister for Regional Development, Territories and Local Government, the Hon Dr John McVeigh, has announced that 136 projects will receive grant funding of $208.2m to support community projects in regional Australia under the Infrastructure Projects Stream of the Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF).
The Department of Industry, Innovation and Science is responsible for administering the program on behalf of the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development and Cities.
The Infrastructure Projects Stream supports projects which involve the construction of new infrastructure, or the upgrade or extension of existing infrastructure that provide economic and social benefits to regional and remote areas.
RDAWEP congratulates District Council of Tumby Bay and the Charra Hall and Recreation Centre Incorporated on their successful applications.
District Council of Tumby Bay: Agriculture and Mining Land Project.
This project will build and upgrade stormwater drainage swale, incorporating culvert and wetland detention areas, a levee bank, and retention basins to capture redirected local stormwater.
Charra Hall and Recreation Centre Inc: Charra Hall Refurbishment.
The project will re-roof the 1966 old Charra hall facility including minor upgrades on the inside for kitchen and toilet facilities.
