October is Cyber Security Awareness Month and this year’s theme is Be cyber wise – don’t compromise.

The South Australian (SA) Government is working in partnership with the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) and Local Government Information Technology South Australia (LGITSA) to coordinate Cyber Security Awareness Month.

During October, all Australians are encouraged to improve their cyber security knowledge and take action to secure their information and devices.

There are four weekly themes across the month to remind individuals and businesses to be more cyber wise:

• Week 1 (2-8 Oct) Update your devices regularly
• Week 2 (9-15 Oct) Turn on multi-factor authentication
• Week 3 (16-22 Oct) Backup your important files
• Week 4 (23-29 Oct) Use passphrases and password managers.
