Held on the West Coast of Eyre Peninsula, the Australian Salmon Fishing Championship is in it’s 25th year.  This year, the competition commences 1st July and ends on 31st July 2019.

Salmon may be caught from the shore between Mount Camel Beach and Sheringa Beach with a hook and line.  Entrants must purchase their tickets before catching and the salmon, gutted and washed (not gilled or scaled) must be presented on the day of capture to be weighed at the Elliston Community and Visitor Information Centre.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the Elliston Community and Information Centre, Elliston Roadhouse, Sheringa Roadhouse, Elliston Hotel, Elliston Waterloo Bay Caravan Park and Elliston Caravan Park.  Tickets are also available at Tackleworld, Port Lincoln.

$1,000 will be won for the heaviest salmon with $300 for the runner up.  Each week there will be a prize of $300 for the heaviest salmon and $200 for the mystery weight, everyone has a chance to win!
