About the role

Reporting to the Engineering Governance Leader, this residential role based in Whyalla will contribute to the business success of Liberty Primary Steel and Simec Mining through ensuring the asset register is accurate and the asset strategy meets statutory obligations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring service providers adhere to and remain compliant with all service specifications and requirements
  • Risk Management to ensure adequate fire protection and compliance gap closure
  • Overseeing contractor management and performance issues
  • Working with site areas on critical issue support and resolution
  • Acting as a technical support for the business on state legislation and governance

About your experience

You ideally have proven technical experience in Fire Protection Systems alongside a background in mining, manufacturing, or heavy-industry environment. You are a proactive, professional and safety focused individual with excellent problem solving and people management skills looking for a varied and diverse role.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant trade or engineering qualification in Mechanical or Electrical discipline
  • Proficiency with Service and Maintenance of fire protection systems legislation
  • Proven experience with risk management processes
  • Contractor controller and management experience is highly advantageous
  • Strong leadership skills, enthusiasm, and drive
