To address the current workforce needs as a result of impacts of the global COVID-19 pandemic and recent bushfires, the Department for Innovation and Skills is expanding Skilling South Australia (SSA) projects.

SSA Workforce Projects will run parallel to existing Skilling South Australia Projects to support businesses, employers and industry sectors to retain, transition and mobilise workers, and to upskill and re-skill displaced workers for areas in demand.

Projects must demonstrate:

  • workforce retention, including apprentices and trainees, and upskilling of an existing workforce
  • support to transition or mobilise workers across industry sectors in need, such as aged care, disability support, health care, and/or manufacturing and transport and logistics, and/or
  • new opportunities to upskill or retrain displaced workers into areas in demand.

All projects are required to deliver accredited training.

Projects will be co-designed on a rolling basis until 30 June 2020, subject to demand and budget availability.

If you have an idea for a SSA Workforce Project contact an adviser to seek advice and support to co-design your concept further – call 1800 673 097 or email skills@sa.gov.au.
