RDAWEP congratulates Ottoway Fabrication’s Whyalla facility for winning a contract to construct a cruise ship block for Fincantieri Australia.

This contract, together with Adelaide’s MG Engineering contract to construct two blocks, provides an estimated 50 jobs across the two South Australian sites.

This is a prime opportunity for Ottoway Fabrication to demonstrate its tremendous depth of relevant engineering skills to contribute to future Defence contracts.

Ottoway Fabrication has been a key partner in the Heavy Industry Cluster Group established by RDAWEP in 2015.  A central focus of the Cluster is to connect Whyalla industry with new business opportunities including Defence and energy.

Italian shipbuilding company Fincantieri is one of three international companies tendering for the SEA 5000 Future Frigate program.
