The Rural Generalist provides clinical services of the highest possible standard to General Medicine patients, both in terms of individual performance and by clinical leadership and contribution to a multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of patient care.
The Rural Generalist will be actively involved in teaching trainee medical officers, interns and medical students and, where appropriate, nursing and allied health. He/she will participate in research and continuous medical education activities.
The successful applicant must have a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent with appropriate Specialist Qualifications. He/she must be registerable with the Medical Board of Australia as Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration in General Practice (i.e. FRACGP or FACRRM). They must be eligible to be credentialled by the relevant Credentialling Committee at a level appropriate to the role.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Screening/Check and specific immunisation requirements. COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement under the Public Health Act 2011 (Healthcare Setting Workers Vaccination) (COVID-19) to work in SA Health/health care setting.
