Please note that this position is multi-classed as either a WHA3 or WHA4 and classification will be determined by qualifications and experience.
The Aged Care Worker will assist in providing a qualitative care, direct client service to residents of Miroma Place Hostel.
The Aged Care Worker will contribute to the provision of a qualitative care for residents by providing assistance with bathing, showering, personal hygiene, dressing and grooming of residents, along with toileting and continence management. He/she will help with feeding residents and maintain their mobility/dexterity through transferring and lifting, including the use of mechanical aides. You will also be required to assist with making of beds, cleaning of equipment and aids (including utensils and personal possessions) in a designated work area and distribute clean laundry and personal attire. They will provide input into resident assessment and recording general observations and help to identify diversional therapy needs of individuals and/or groups and complete routine documentation in accordance with established policies and procedures.
The successful application will work within a multi-disciplinary team and will be required to undertake training and maintain their skills and knowledge applicable to the role. Working at WHA4 level will also require a Completed AQF Certificate III relevant to the position. The opportunity exist to make a real difference and feel like an important part of the community.
