Truck Driver – Whyalla

As the successful applicant you will be able to demonstrate:

  • MAX core business values “Safety, Teamwork, Attitude, Respect & Integrity”
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, fatigue, heavy vehicle operating guide lines, loading requirements, axle weights, adhering to vehicle specific permits
  • Take good care of vehicles/plant under your control and where required for maintenance testing, operate a variety of equipment according to licensing and qualifications
  • Performing general maintenance on heavy equipment such as trucks, trailers, dolly’s
  • Perform inspections and report faults and repairs where required
  • Inspect plant and equipment, analyse, trouble shoot and identify a sequence of repairs and maintenance of plant and equipment
  • Complete and submit work hire dockets
  • Complete logbooks as required under any Heavy Vehicle Legislation
  • Perform breakdown road service on equipment when required
  • Recommend improved work methods and procedures in an effort to continuously improve the functions performed

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Positive “can-do” attitude and focused on providing great customer experiences
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and be able to work autonomously
  • An uncompromising approach to safety
  • Possess an appropriate license with proven technical expertise and experience (preferred MC/HC Licence)
  • Demonstrate initiative and innovative skills
  • Experience in Operating various types trucks/road trains
  • Experience with rigging lifts and load shifting equipment (where qualified)
  • Experience working in remote locations and shutdowns
  • An ability to effectively analyse and solve issues in a timely and proficient manner
  • Team Player with excellent communication
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Ability to obtain a Police Clearance
  • Ability to pass medical and D&A tests
