Port Lincoln Children’s Centre has a 19-place long day care program that supports Aboriginal culture, lifestyles and child rearing practices by valuing parents, and extended families. We acknowledge and respect the cultural heritage that the children, families and staff bring to the Centre. We pride ourselves on our strong bonds with our families and pedagogical practices.

We currently have a position for a person who has a Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care to join us on an on-going part-time basis specifically afternoon shifts Monday to Friday 1:15pm — 5:15pm, working in our Long Day Care program.

Key responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of high quality educational and care programs;
  • Providing a high quality service to children, parents and the local community;
  • Compliance with all relevant regulations and statutory requirements; and
  • Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained at a high level at all times. An understanding of Aboriginal culture and the concepts of play-based learning

The successful candidates will have:

  • A Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent); Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates;
  • A current Working with Children Check.
  • A current Child Safe Environments for Young People ‘Through Their Eyes certificate.
  • A Responding to Risk of Harm, Abuse and Neglect — Education and Care certificate/or be willing to enrol in the course.
  • Previous experience will be an advantage.
  • Experience or knowledge working with children with a wide range of additional needs will be an advantage.
