District Council of Tumby Bay

Tumby Bay is an idyllic coastal region in the Eyre Peninsula where residents have chosen to establish livelihoods, raise families and retire to a safe and serene environment.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Works Supervisor to join this community-focused Council. Reporting to the Manager Works and Infrastructure, you will be responsible for providing leadership and support to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of works across Construction & Maintenance and Parks & Gardens teams.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Leading and delivering Council’s field service areas, based on defined service levels, specifications and budgets allocated by Council
  • Supervising the day-to-day operational functions ensuring effective use of resources, programs, and services
  • Leading a diverse workforce with a focus on providing great outcomes for the community
  • Developing systems, policies, processes, and procedures to ensure continuous improvement
  • Responding to customer requests and work orders in a timely manner
  • Ensuring all works performed are delivered safely, within designated time frames, budgetary constraints, and to the agreed levels of quality
  • Managing and maintaining Council’s works depot, plant, and equipment
  • Complete routine asset inspections and preventative maintenance as scheduled

To be successful in this role you will ideally have a relevant certificate 3 level qualification. You will be proactive and highly organised with the desire to provide best value outcomes for both Council and the Community. Previous experience within Local Government would be highly regarded.
