About the Department for Correctional Services

The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and sixteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Our vision is for a safer community by protecting the public and reducing re-offending. The Manager Industries is responsible for the effective operation and management of all commercial industries operating at the Port Lincoln Prison including livestock management, crop production and workshop manufacturing, in accordance with corporate strategies and requirements.  This role is responsible for management and supervision of industries staff and ensuring quality outcomes and service provision of production activity. This Industries Manager reports to the General Manager and is responsible for contributing to the development of strategies that will support and attract long term commercial relationships with public and private organisations.

Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.

  • The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check
  • A current South Australian Driver’s Licence is essential
  • A flexible approach to working hours is required
  • Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.

    • Certificate in Farm Practice, Certificate IV in Horticulture, Qualifications in Agriculture or Rural Business Management
    • Certificate IV in Correctional Practice
    • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

  • This is a temporary vacancy for up to 12 months.
  • It is a requirement for any non-ongoing DCS employees to be fully vaccinated with a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved COVID-19 vaccination.
