The Role

The City of Port Lincoln is seeking a Casual Tourism Officer to provide customer service and administration in the Port Lincoln Visitor Information Centre primarily in the areas of providing advice to visitors on the history of the area, sites to visit, tour bookings and retail sales, during the busy summer period.

Key Tasks Include:

  • Customer Service – Telephone, Counter and Electronic
  • Assist visitors to connect them with local services and operators
  • Tour bookings and retail sales
  • General Tourism Administration, including daily operational tasks
  • Receiving or preparing merchandise for sale including monitoring stock levels and display of merchandise
  • Facilitate and/or assist with the promotion of tourism services through, social media, website maintenance and updates.

  • Hourly Rate if $24.15 per hour plus 25% Casual Loading
  • Penalty Rates Apply
  • Junior Rates will apply if applicable
  • Superannuation Guarantee of 10.5%

About You:

To be the successful applicant, you should be available over a 7-day roster, including public holidays. You will display excellent communication skills, as well as experience in customer service. Good knowledge of local services, businesses, experiences and attractions is essential to this role. The successful applicant will also have the ability to research and provide information upon request, work as part of a team, and have demonstrated experience in cash handling, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
