Climate change is simply the greatest threat facing mankind today. Wouldn’t it be great if there was a solution that can slow global warming and buy the world time for other technologies to kick in, we believe there is. Over 20 years methane is 86 times more potent than CO2 at warming the atmosphere. At CH4 we are on an urgent mission to impact climate change at scale using the Australian native seaweed, Asparagopsis. Adding less than 0.5% of this natural feed additive can reduce the methane produced by cows, as a result of digestion, by up to 90%. Fed to 10% world’s cattle it would remove equivalent one gigatonne of CO2 emissions. Across Australia and New Zealand CH4 are rapidly building hatcheries, tank, pond and sea based grow out systems for Asparagopsis. Qualifications & experience

  • Essential: Diploma/Bachelor of Biological/Marine Science or related field and 1 year experience in scientific research or aquaculture environment
  • Preferred: Masters in Biological/Marine Science or related field

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Manage day to day cultivation and harvesting of asparagopsis
  • Ensure data is collected, stored, analysed and reports prepared
  • Assist with the design and provisioning of the macroalgae production system
  • Ensure the smooth process of commissioning new facility
  • Continually optimise and improve systems for hatchery, nursery, tank farming and harvesting
