Career Employment Group Inc, has multiple Casual Deckhand positions for potential immediate starts with our valued client in Port Lincoln, South Australia.

The Role

Based in Port Lincoln on a Casual rate, and reporting directly to relevant line managers, we are seeking applications for Deck Hands as follows:

Deck Hand

  • Positions available in Feeding and/or Maintenance Boats
  • Previous experience not necessary (training will be offered), but must be able to work on the decks of boats (ie previous boating experience)
  • Able to work in Extreme and variable weather conditions
  • Fish Cage Skills (advantageous) including but not limited to the following:
    • Pulling Nets
    • Bathing Operations
    • Feeding
    • Tows
  • Undertake Deck Safety checks and duties
  • Ability to work unsupervised, and to a high standard whilst adhering to WHS Standards
  • Preparation of fish for Market/Transportation
  • General Fish Husbandry
  • General Housekeeping and Maintenance
  • The ability to work in all areas of the land and marine operations, and be part of a cohesive team is essential.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Master 5 or Coxswains (advantageous)
  • Deckhand Experience (desirable)Those that haven’t previously worked on a fish farm, but have a passion for Marine work (ie boating/fishing) encouraged to apply
  • Must hold Current Drivers Licence
  • Pass Drug and Alcohol and fitness for work
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Physically Fit
  • Hold or obtain National Police Clearance


  • Pay rate to be disclosed upon application
  • Possibility of full time employment at 6 months
