Streaky Bay is a picturesque coastal town on the western side of the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia. The seaside town is the business hub and service centre of the district, with excellent facilities for shopping and essential services, such as a well-equipped modern hospital, aged care facility, accommodation to suit all budgets and an area school servicing R to Year 12.

The Role 

Reporting directly to the General Manager Operations, as the Mine Operations Superintendent you will be responsible for the application of short term mine plans to ensure production targets are met safely and within budget.

Initially, this role will assist the General Manager Operations and the project team in all aspects of the establishment of a greenfield mining operation.

This position will be initially based in Adelaide with frequent visits to site. As the project develops the position will relocate to the mine site and the incumbent will reside in Streaky Bay.

You will be highly motivated, engaging and an outcome orientated individual who enjoys building relationships using dynamic and innovative leadership. You will be able to demonstrate your commitment to safety and a continuous improvement culture.

This role can be either for a seasoned mine operational person who has worked their way up from hands on operational roles through to a supervisory/foreman level or a mining engineer who wants to build on solid operational experience.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following qualification, experience, and abilities;

  • A degree in Mining Engineering or other mining discipline such as Civil Engineering, Surveying or Geology.
  • Proven experience in open pit mining or a commensurate level of other mining experience.
  • Knowledge of CAD Software, mine planning and scheduling packages.
  • Pronto or ERP experience
  • Demonstrate high levels of self-awareness and be capable of managing shifts and enabling effective communication at all levels.
