Eyre Peninsula Councils are inviting nominations for the 2023 Australia Day Citizen of the Year Awards.

The public are encouraged to nominate individuals and organisations that have made outstanding contributions to their community over the past 12 months and/or given outstanding service over a number of years to their community.

The nomination categories are:

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year
  • Community Event of the Year
  • Award for Active Citizenship

However, please check with your local Council as there may be additional nomination categories.

Nominations close on Friday 18 November 2022.

Individuals and organisations can be nominated for their contribution and community service to a range of areas such as education, health, fundraising, charitable and voluntary services, business, sports, arts, the environment or any other area that contributes to the advancement and wellbeing of their community.

Nominations can be made online at www.citizenoftheyear.com.au or nomination forms are available by contacting your local Council Office.

The Citizen of the Year Awards are proudly presented by the Australia Day Council of South Australia, sponsored by Local Government of South Australia, On the Run, IWS, MGA Insurance and Sarah Constructions.

Award recipients will be announced on 26 January, 2023 during Australia Day celebrations.
